CHOIR HERITAGE

Founded in 1976, Corby Male Voice Choir is a forward looking community based organisation and with a strong focus on fundraising, has so far helped local organisations and good causes to raise over £300,000.  We rehearse and perform throughout the year and, in recent times, we have performed an annual average of twelve concerts.

The highlight of our 30th Anniversary year occurred in October 2006, when we were one of fourteen choirs performing in London's Royal Albert Hall. The occasion was the biennial Festival of Male Choirs organised by the London Welsh Male Voice Choir. Singers from Australia, Canada, Scotland and Wales took part, together with the band of the Welsh Guards.

Our current repertoire includes songs from West End shows, popular music, songs of the sea, sacred songs, and music from operas. Recently we have added more contemporary music. As well as English, we sing German, French, Latin, Maori, Welsh and Zulu songs.

The Choir's 40th anniversary was on Tuesday, the 19th of January 2016.
